Every business has a story on how it began…here is ours!

It all began with a girl that moved from the Midwest to Colorado Springs in 1986. She met her best friend in 1987 whom she later married in 1991. This began the story of Bobbie and Karen Moore. Bobbie was working for Colorado Springs Transit and Karen was working for MCI. Karen’s parents were self-employed and Karen wanted to have her own business and escape the corporate world. She had many ideas, but it was not until she and her husband started MountainScapes Equipment Sales & Service, Inc. in 1998, selling and servicing Outdoor Power Equipment.

They opened the doors in September 1998 with zero customers but grew the business to over $1M in sales in 2007. They broke every small business record, they survived the first 3 years in business, then the 5-year mark, and they are still going strong. At the 5-year mark, the Moores were looking for a commercial building they could buy. Through working with SCORE, they found and purchased Hickman Trailers Garage in 2003. This diversified the business to allow it to sustain itself during the Colorado drought and lack of winter snows. The trailer garage had been in business since 1955 and is well known in Colorado Springs for its knowledge and expertise in trailer repairs and parts.

Today the business is truly a family business with not only Karen and Bobbie, but their son Chris as well, who is working the business and providing excellent customer service to the Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Palmer Park and Canon City markets.
